Come join us after work on Wednesday February 8th from 6-8pm at the Velocity 5 in Lowes Island. Catch up with friends and neighbors from the league, meet the new commissioner, Andre, and enjoy food and drink (provided). New to the league or flag football? Meet our New Commissioner, Andre Hargett
We are pleased to announce the addition of our new commissioner Andre Hargett to the Cascades Youth Flag Football family. Andre has over 15 years coaching experience working with kids in various sports locally, and was an assistant commissioner of a flag football league in North Carolina. He graduated from Broad Run High school and attended Virginia State University. Help us give a warm welcome to Andre, who's already shown a great deal of enthusiasm and support for our Cascades NFL Flag Football program!
Cascades Flag Football is now an Official NFL Flag League
We'll start this season with the NFL Licensed reversible jerseys and each player and coach will receive a year membership to USA Football, Football's National Governing Body. NFL Flag teams are also eligible to play in the fall NFL Flag Regional Tournament at Raven's stadium!
Spring Registration is Open-Early Bird Ends Feb 15th
With the upcoming Superbowl and the warm January weather, it's easy to get an early jump on excitement for the Spring Season. Registration is NOW OPEN, with the season running March-June for grades K-Middle School. Register now to receive your early bird discount of $120, which includes your reversible NFL team jersey and annual USA Football membership! After February 15th, registration increases to $140.
New Coaching Certification Available through USA Football
With a focus on fundamentals and safety, USA Football is committed to providing flag football coaches with the best in coaching education. The video-based instruction courses are full of animated plays as well as quizzes showing proper technique and form. We are currently waiting for promo codes from USA Football and will have this link soon so that our coaches can start their online certification and access other great coaching tools.
Paid Referee Positions Are Available this Season
Becoming a Flag Football Referee is a challenging and rewarding way for players age 14 and older to participate and help in the leadership of the Cascades Flag Football League. Training and mentoring is provided to new referees, and positions are paid. New and Returning Referees, please complete the 2012 Form, and return by February 15th.
