"Tackling" the off-season To Do list
After a long season breaks from flag belts and footballs are often beneficial but taking advantage of the end of season excitement is important to carry enthusiasm into your next season. Here are some suggestions to get a head start on your next season...
· Gather fresh feedback by surveying participants while they are still engaged on what they loved and what they see that can be improved. There are tons of online survey tools out there, our favorite is Constant Contact . Popular survey topics: how did you hear about the league, feedback on coaching, league details, interest in playing again, general thoughts positives & suggestions for the league.

· Meet with coaches to evaluate the season and players. Knowing key players is useful for creating balanced future teams.
· Be ready with details for your next season or other opportunities for kids to continue playing. Have your plan ready because excited parents will ask early and are a useful tool for spreading the word around the community.
· Make upgrades to your registration processes and website to stay on the front end of technology to keep things as easy as possible for those registering and looking for more information about your league.
· Do inventory on your equipment, get rid of worn out pieces (they won’t get any more usable after being stored in the off season).
· Formulate an equipment wish list for the next season.
· Recruit coaches to commit to coaching next season early.
· Review and update your league rules & procedures as necessary while issues you’ve addressed midseason are fresh.
· Plan events for the offseason (camps & clinics)
· Make sure to stay current on all insurance policies and field rental agreements.
· Anticipate and make room in your program for league growth. During the off season
* while you are working hard to prep for the future be sure to stay in contact with your league members and occasionally ping them with the reminder that it will soon be flag football season again and you can’t wait to see them again. Use the momentum gained from your current season and remember… just like your league athletes, the more effort you put into your offseason the better your game will be come kickoff time next season.
